If you want to concentrate on hair in the beauty industry, a Colorado hair stylist license is what you will need, and it differs from cosmetology, because treatment of customers’ skin and nails is not included in the training. While you attend beauty school, you will be taught the information and develop the skills you need to pass the State Board examination and become licensed, Along with that, you will acquire the professional skills you need to succeed as a hair stylist, earn a median salary of $26,000, and advance your career as well.
To accomplish this, you will need to complete 1,140 hours of related training at a hairdressing school that has been approved by the State Board of Colorado, and your training will be focused on styling hair and trimming beards. Note also that you cannot apply for a hair stylist license in Colorado if you are under the age of 16.
If you are licensed as a hair stylist by another state and are also in good standing there, you can obtain your Colorado license by endorsement. This requires completing an out-of-state, paying the related fee, and asking the state in which are licensed to forward the necessary verification to the office of the Colorado State Board. If you are unable to meet all of the licensing requirements, the next step will be to take a portion or all of the state’s practical and written examinations for hair stylists in order to obtain your license.
