In New Mexico, one needs to acquire 1,600 hours of beauty school training from an accredited cosmetology school that is approved by the New Mexico State Board. In New Mexico, you also need to be at least 16 years of age with a minimum of two years in high school.
If the applicant has greater than or equal to the number of beauty school hours and credentials, New Mexico will grant reciprocity.
