The state of Washington is a beautiful state, and what makes it even more beautiful are the people who live there. Washington is a Mecca for creativity, and many artistic people are drawn to the area, including photographers, artists, craftsmen and women, architects, and also, cosmetologists and hair designers.
There are many hairdressing schools in Washington, with programs in cosmetology. Cosmetology includes hair design, nail technology and skin care. The only requirement is a high school diploma or a GED. When you have completed the 1800 hour cosmetology program, and you graduate, you then take the Washington State Board of Cosmetology Exam. When you pass, you will receive your license. If you have already passed exam in another state, and been licensed, then you don’t have to retake the exam. This is called Reciprocity, and Washington participates in it.
